FPI's Commitment to Small Business Goals

The Small Business Act requires that all executive branch agencies negotiate with the Small Business Administration annually to develop small business prime and sub-contracting goals.

With the large number of mergers and acquisitions over the past ten years creating larger and larger companies, it has become more challenging for agencies to achieve these goals.

FPI maintains one of the highest percentages of total award dollars going to small business concerns--currently exceeding 45 percent--within the U.S. Department of Justice, consistently exceeding the SBA goals. FPI is working diligently to bring up the percentages in the other social economic areas. FPI’s commitment to these entities is more than simply meeting statutory requirements – it is a culture devoted to strong, on-going relationships, year after year. The historical record of FPI performance leaves no doubt about this commitment.

The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Small Business Act require prime contractors receiving contracts which exceed the simplified acquisition threshold, to give small businesses an opportunity to participate. FPI complies with these requirements as well.
