Federal Prison Industries of Terre Haute, Indiana, provides high-quality, mission-ready vehicles to a variety of federal law enforcement agencies. We currently employ 14 staff members and 120 correctional inmates to handle all aspects of our customers fleet needs.

The FPI Terre Haute facility features one Auto Cad design area, dedicated to decals and stripping, allowing us to quickly and efficiently meet the unique needs of each customer. At FPI Terre Haute, we are proud of our ability to implement all projects with maximum efficiency, from initial input to design and development, to the finished product.

Each production area is supplied with standard automotive tools and equipment, and the facility also features:

Full service maintenance on buses
Complete Engine overhaul
Cylinder head remanufacturing
1000 hp dynamometer capability
Complete overhaul of Allison transmissions including B500 Electronic World transmission
Transmission Valve body testing and adjusting equipment
Cummins, Caterpillar and Detroit Diesel electronics diagnosis
All wheel laser alignment for buses and trucks
Installation of communications equipment and programming of Motorola radios
Air Conditioning service and repairs including 134a conversions
Overhaul and testing of alternators and starters 12 and 24 volt
Major accident repair facility for Bluebird, MCI,Thomas and Eagle buses.
Handicap conversions which meet all ADA requirements
Fabrication and installation of security grilles in buses, vans and sedans
Paint spray booth capable of handling 45' buses and semi trucks
Replacement of windshields in buses, cars and vans

FPI Terre Haute can also coordinate all pickup and delivery of buses, trucks and sedans.

CERTIFICATIONS

All of the staff members and many of the inmate workers employed by FPI Terre Haute are ASE certified and meet certifications requirements in 608/609 air conditioning. Our staff is also certified by Detroit Diesel, Motorola, Braun Lift, Super Flo Dynamometer, Allison Transmission and PPG Paint.
