“Quality Upfit Vehicles for Federal Law Enforcement“
The Federal Prison Industries facility at La Tuna, Texas, currently provides high-quality, mission-ready vehicles to Federal Law Enforcement Agencies.
With 12 staff members, 150 inmate workers and 27,000 square feet of factory space, FPI La Tuna is able to upfit 100 vehicles a month on a single shift schedule. Another 7,000 square feet of space is available if required, and the warehouse has 34,000 square feet available for warehousing, production or de-manufacturing, as needed.
Upfitting for Safety and Security
FPI La Tuna´s upfitting operation includes supplying customers with light- and heavyduty trucks, sport utility vehicles and various types of K-9 vehicle packages. Law enforcement's garrison section is supplied with different types of sedans and vans. Every one of our product lines receives unique, mission-critical customizations as requested by our customers. We are also working to establish a fully operational, in-house metal fabrication shop, which will allow us to improve product turn-around time and increase customer satisfaction.
CERTIFICATIONS
FPI La Tuna has received its American Correctional
Accreditation (ACA), as well as certification for the
paint booth from the Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality (TCEQ).We currently
employ a procurement agent with an authorized
warrant to purchase under Federal Acquisitions
Regulations (FAR). Our Quality Assurance Manager
has completed all required quality assurance courses
